Preceedings (for Proceedings)

Preceedings is in the C, or moderate probability section of the main list of typographical errors in library databases at http://faculty.quinnipiac.edu/libraries/tballard/typoscomplete.html, meaning that it was found between 8 and 15 times in OhioLINK at the time of its discovery. We found it to be the kind of typo that gets a double take because it looks real at first glance. There is a relatively low hit count for this in Google at just over 50,000. That is likely due to the fact that Proceedings is not a word that would have turned up on Groucho's list of words that describe something you would find around the house. A quick strategy for dealing with this typo would be to perform a double keyword search of Preceedings and Proceedings.
